(updated 20 October, 2022)
We offer 3 delicious certified organic hardneck varieties AND a variety pack for your eating and planting pleasure! All of our garlics are good keepers, and well-suited to growing in our Northern climate. In addition, these varieties will provide you with a bonus crop of garlic scapes that can be pickled, stir fried, roasted, or made into a fabulous pesto!
AND COME JOIN US AT A GARLIC FESTIVAL!
We will be attending the Hudson Valley Garlic Festival (booth #105) in Saugerties NY (October 1-2), and the Connecticut Garlic and Harvest Festival in Bethlehem CT (October 8-9)
MUSIC - This porcelain type is known for its large, easy-to-peel cloves. There are typically 4-6 cloves per bulb, and an average of 20 cloves per pound. The flavor when raw is buttery, with a hotness that quickly dissipates. Our customers especially love it roasted as the big beautiful cloves will caramelize for a garlicky treat! The robust plants produce a heavy yield of scapes and are consistently healthy and vigorous.
JUMBO BULBS (2.25-2.5+ inches)
|
RUSSIAN RED - A popular rocambole with a rich full flavor, long-lasting heat, and sweet aftertaste. Delicious in your pesto or curry dishes. Bulbs have 8-12 large cloves and around 50-60 cloves per pound. Earliest maturing of our three varieties, and folks love the spiciness!
LARGE BULBS (2-2.25 inches)
|
CHESNOK RED - A purple-striped variety with 9-13 gorgeous wine-hued cloves per bulb, and approx 50-60 plantable cloves per pound. At our festival taste tests, customers often describe it as "spicy, with a zip!" Enjoy Chesnok roasted, or add it to your favorite spaghetti sauce recipes to make them pop!
